wat is meant by centrifuge at 500g 10 min? normally we use the rpm unit for speed rite..then 500g equals to how many rpm?15000rpm?

Filtering Cells Instead Of Centrifugation?

I have two liters of a plasmid culture in the shaker, and the centrifuge is dead. Ugh! Has anyone ever “pelleted” cells by filtration? I have a buchner funnel and filter paper, and I also have a fritted glass filter funnel available. If anyone has ever done this I’d appreciate any advice.

Heyy… got some problems as i couldn understand some terms..
what are ” the substance were centrifuged at 40-xg for 5 min…..”
and ” the substance was centrifuges for 100g for 5 mins….”
What is “xg”?? and how is the grams related to the process of spinning by centriguge machine?
Pls answer my question i would be greatly appreciated!!
