How is the availability and quality of the medical insurance in Canada compared with other countries, such as USA, Australia, Europe? Is it easy to find a good family doctor/specialist? and how is the quality, is it expensive, etc…

Hi All I am living in Canada for 1 year to satisfy immigration before I apply for residential status but need to get some medical cover just encase anything happens during that period as a non resident. Has anyone got any advice or recommendations on who to go to?

Has anyone taken the Category 1 Medical Exam in Canada and if so, how hard is it to pass if your in good physical condition ( im a little skinny but fit otherwise )? Also, how often do you have to get the Medical Exam re-done if you 18-23 years old?
