How fast (in rpm) must a centrifuge rotate if a particle 6 cm from the axis of rotation is to experience an acceleration of 115,000 g’s?
I am moving to Austell, Ga and I wanted to know what is the minimum salary that a medical assistant can make with no experience as a medical assistant but has an Associate degree in the field? Wheres the best place to apply for medical assistant jobs in georgia? What should I keep in mind when applying? Thank You
A centrifuge is a device in which a small container of material is rotated at a high speed on a circular path. Such a device is used in medical laboratories, for instance, to cause the more dense red blood cells to settle through the less dense blood serum and collect at the bottom of the container. Suppose the centripetal acceleration of the sample is 6.42*10^3 times as large as the acceleration due to gravity. How many revolutions per minute is the sample making, if it is located at a radius of 4.64 cm from the axis of rotation?
A centrifuge used for testing human tolerance to acceleration has a gondola at a distance of 16 m from the vertical axis of rotation. What speed is required to produce a horizontal acceleration of 11 g(acceleration due to gravity)? (Show the computations)
Ok, there are three problems:
1) A centrifuge accelerates from rest to 11,000 rpm in 200 s. Through how many revolutions did it turn in this time?
2) A wheel 75.0 cm in diameter accelerates uniformly from 240 rpm to 350 rpm in 5.5 s. How far will a point on the edge of the wheel have traveled in this time?
3) A cooling fan is turned off when it is running at 700 rev/min. It turns 1700 revolutions before it comes to a stop.
(a) What was the fan’s angular acceleration, assumed constant?
(b) How long did it take the fan to come to a complete stop?
Help would be greatly appreciated!
Which of the following correctly lists the order in which cellular components will be found in the pellet when homogenized cells are treated with increasingly rapid spins in a centrifuge?
A) ribosomes, nucleus, mitochondria
B) chloroplasts, ribosomes, vacuoles
C) nucleus, ribosomes, chloroplasts
D) vacuoles, ribosomes, nucleus
E) nucleus, mitochondria, ribosomes
Thanks! ^^
5 drops of aluminum nitrate is placed in a centrifuge tube. 6 drops of aqueous ammonia solution is then added. A precipitate forms.
Explain what happened. What is the chemical identity of the precipitate? (hint: What IONIC species arise when NH3 is added to water? The precipitate forms because Al(3+) has combined with an anion…)
Write TWO net ionic equations.
My wife is deciding whether to get Medically Boarded or push for voluntary administrative separation without retirement. She has 6 yrs till 20, and with medical issues isn’t sure she’ll make 6 yrs w/o the AF forcing her out. We’re condiering getting her out so she can start schooling early but it seems VA & the GI bill aren’t paying for education if you are ‘less than honorably discharged’.
So for homework. one of my equations has w^2…… i’m given rpm and it says the “w” in that equation is rad/s. So i figure i multiply rpm by 2*pi / 60. Regardless. The answer i’m suppose to get is meter / second.
Here is the equation
U(r) = 2 * a^2 * (delta ro ) * r * w^2 / (9 * viscosity).
a is dimater of molecule…..r is distance molecule is from center
This is for a centrifuge.
i was given the correct answer before hand, and converted all the units and then solved for w…..i get a conversion factor of 42 which isn’t making much sense….
thanks
Do you think you need body shapewear? Are you in a position where you don’t have enough time to exercise or just don’t want to? Are you also tired of dieting? If you are answering yes to one or more of these then using the body shaper garments available on the market may just be an answer for you.
Why Use Them?
Because you wear them under your clothes they give you the appearance you want right away. They can benefit you by assisting with reforming tissue and firming areas that were loose because of fat. They will immediately give you a noticeable boost in confidence. Depending on the garment it may even help you lose weight by applying constant pressure on the abdominal cavity giving you a full feeling with a smaller amount of food then you are probably used to eating.
You would be surprised but a large number of men use these garments as well to deal with Gynecomastia and the conditions that come along with being overweight. For men there are products on the market that help compress the nipples and can make the chest look more defined. There are even sleeves that can be worn that firm up loose skin on the arms and suits to help firm, reshape and protect the groin area.
You will also be surprised to know that a number of these garments can work not only above water but in water as well. This means you can afford yourself of all of the benefits of these garments no matter what your activity may be. This is why being aware of the choices can be a big benefit to you.
If you do decide to go and get plastic surgery for your issues then also know that they make garments specifically for post plastic surgery recovery. These clothes can help those recovering from plastic surgery by keeping skin in place and assisting n the reforming process. They also tend to reduce swelling and pain after the surgical procedure has been performed.
