How fast (in rpm) must a centrifuge rotate if a particle 8.0 cm from the axis of rotation is to experience a centripetal acceleration of 500000 m/s^2
Is it solved by using a=rw^2 and then multiplying that result by 60?

    centrip accel = v^2/r = w^2 r where w is angular velocity
    if a=5×10^5m/s/s, and r=0.08m, we have that
    w^2=5×10^5/.08=6.25×10^6 => w=2500 rad/sec (you compute w in radians, not revolutions; you must convert this to revolutions by dividing by 2 pi since there are 2 pi radians in each rev)
    2500 rad/sec = 398.1revs/sec = 23,885rev/min
